As many of you know bread is one of the hardest things to master. Here is a basic 1 loaf bread recipe that works pretty well. This is a brown bread recipe if you would like to make white bread, just add 3 cups of white flour in place of the brown flour.
1 tsp yeast
1 tsp brown sugar
warm water- enough to dissolve the yeast and brown sugar
2 cups brown flour (you can find this at your grocery store next to the all purpose flour, do NOT mistake this for brown ATTA)1 cup white flour
2 tbsp Oil
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp lemon juice
2 tbsp dry powdered milk
Place your yeast, sugar, and water in a small dish and leave for 15 mins.
In a separate bowl mix the dry ingredients
Once the yeast is done pour it into your dry ingredients.
Now alternately add milk/water and kneed..keep kneeding your dough until it is the texture of Roti atta. Sorry i can't be more specific; i will try to post the exact amount of milk and water soon. But make sure the dough is not to soft and not to hard.
Now place the dough in a loaf pan and let it rise for 45 mins.
Then place your loaf in the oven at 350 for 30 mins. Once your loaf is done leave it in the oven for another 30 mins or so to cool.. This is important otherwise the bread is somewhat doughy.
